Assembly Member commends President for promoting Kofi Boakye
The assembly member for the Nyinampong Electoral Area in the Mampong Municipal Assembly, Mr George Atakora, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for promoting the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kofi Boakye, to the rank of Commissioner.

He also commended Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, for recommending Kofi Boakye to the president for such an honour.
In an interview, the assembly member noted that Mr Boakye had brought significant changes to the Regional Police Command.
He said his reign had seen a lot of discipline in the police service.
Mr Atakora stressed that several new police stations had been constructed in many communities while many police posts had been put up at vantage points.
Crime wave
That, he stressed, had helped to considerably reduce crime in the region.
Mr Atakora emphasised that such promotion would definitely motivate Mr Boakye to bring more innovations into the system.
He attested that Mr Boakye’s achievements emanated from his good working relationship with his regional officers and staff, as well as the support of the general public.
He, therefore, pleaded that such pragmatic,meaningful and coordinated efforts would be sustained to improve the work of the police.
The assembly member further said the police needed the support of all and urged everyone to provide them with the necessary support to enable them to perform their work efficiently.
