Peaceful polls

In an address, Mr Oppong Nkrumah praised the assembly members for not only endorsing Mr Asamoah as the DCE, but also ensuring a peaceful election.

He promised that his outfit would cooperate with the DCE in particular and the district assembly in general to ensure the rapid development of the area.

Mr Nkrumah seized the opportunity to advise all Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs) nationwide to work assiduously to speed up the progress of the country.

Mr Ankrah, who deputised for the Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Eric Kwakye Dafour, commended the assembly members for comporting themselves and also ensuring an incident-free endorsement of the DCE and urged them to sustain the spirit.

He announced that all the new MDCEs would be invited to Koforidua to be sworn into office.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Asamoah said he was grateful to President Akufo-Addo, the NPP and the assembly members for the great honour done him and promised to prove equal to the task.

He said his major preoccupation was to improve sanitation, health and education in the district.
