Akufo-Addo urges electorate to execute change agenda

The 2016 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) , Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has stated that no organisation or individual can alter the current determination of the people to change the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration that has brought untold hardship on the people.

He, therefore, urged the people not to entertain any fear but go out in their numbers and execute the change agenda.

He said most Ghanaians were yearning for change and would vote for change, and that "nothing can stop the huge wave of change"  that would take place on December 7, 2016.

Nana Akufo-Addo, who was addressing a mammoth rally at the Abiss Park at Manhyia North, noted that Ghanaian businesses were suffering, while other people had lost their jobs because of the bad economic policies of the NDC government in the last eight years, but assured the people that hope was on its way.

A large crowd of people, mostly with NPP paraphernalia, lined up by the sides of the main streets from Manhyia North through to Atwima Nwabiagya all using their two index fingers to make the change sign.

Huge crowds of people were present at all the whistle stops, especially at Barekese, Asofia and Fufuom.

Policies

He assured the people that his multi-pronged policies outlined in the party's manifesto were carefully thought out and would be used to ensure accelerated development, economic progress and the realisation of individual potential, all for the development of Ghana.

He mentioned the $1 million per constituency which, he said, was targeted at the peculiar development needs of the areas and the “one constituency, one factory” which was also aimed at establishing a factory that would use the resources or the potential peculiar to each district to provide employment for the teeming youth and revenue for the country, while at the same time stemming the influx of imported goods.

Mustapha

A spokesperson for the NPP flag bearer, Mustapha Hamid, who spoke three different languages from the North, ostensibly targeted a large number of head porters who were at the programme and reminded them that in an Akufo-Addo administration, they would not pay taxes.

He urged the head porters and others from the northern part of the country who have moved southwards because of jobs to give the NPP a chance because the party would implement policies and programmes that would develop the agricultural sector in their areas which would enable them to stay at home and engage in meaningful jobs in dignity and also get adequate revenue for their produce.

Otiko

The National Women Organiser of the NPP, Ms Otiko Afisa Djaba, said she was worried that President Mahama was using the people from the North like a farmer uses the hoe; “he pleads with them to vote for him because he is a northerner but after they have voted, he forgets about them”.

Apraku

A former Minister of State, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, called on the people in the region to come out in their numbers and give the party over 80 per cent of the votes in the region to secure a resounding victory for Nana Akufo-Addo.
