The chiefs, led by Nana Yaw Osei, the Mpaboahene of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, said they had been denied development under the present administration because they had consistently voted for the NPP and that nothing would stop them from doing same.

In unison, the chiefs applauded when Nana Owusu asked them to clap if they agreed to what he said.

They expressed confidence in the ability of the NPP flag bearer to bring development to the people of the area.

He added that though chiefs were barred from engaging in partisan politics, they were not prevented from casting their votes.

Gratitude

Nana Akufo-Addo expressed gratitude for the support and assured them that just as former President J. A. Kufuor placed the economy on the best footing for businesses to flourish and created employment, he would also work to ensure that more jobs were created, senior high school education was free and ensure that every district had a factory.

He denied claims that he was supporting an independent candidate in the constituency.

He indicated that he contested the NPP presidential primary with people such as Mr Alan Kyerematen, Mr Stephen Asamoah-Boateng and Dr Kofi Apraku who were all on the four-day campaign tour.

Nana Akufo-Addo said those he contested with did not go independent but were all working with him.

He had earlier visited Trede, Twedie and Kromoase, where large crowds of enthusiastic party supporters gathered to cheer him.
