Rotary club supports health facilities

The Rotary Club of Accra has presented medical equipment worth $16,000 to selected health facilities in the Ga West Municipality in Accra.

Among the equipment were two dental chairs, two delivery beds, four suction machines and 10 gurneys.

The club also gave out 27 mattresses, 20 crutches, four dialysis machines, 10 examination beds and some consumables.

The health facilities that received the donations were the Ga West Municipal Hospital, Kotoko Clinic, Pokuase Clinic, Oduman Clinic and the Kojo Ashong Clinic.  

The Municipal Director of Health Services, Dr Doris Arhin, also donated a 40-footer container.

Presentation

The Ga West Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Sam Atukwei Quaye, presented the items to representatives of the health institutions.

He expressed his appreciation to Rotary Club for the gesture, adding that the gifts would contribute to providing effective care for people who reported sick to health facilities in the community.

He urged other organisations with the wherewithal to also donate to deprived health institutions in the municipality.

He assured the club that he would make sure the items were used for their intended purpose.

A representative of the Rotary Club of Accra, Mr Moses Tetteh, called on the beneficiary institutions to utilise the equipment well and ensure that they last long.
