Lions In Sight eye clinic screens over 4,000 in Kumasi
The joint Lions In Sight and Lions Clubs of Ghana special free eye clinic ongoing in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, has screened the eyes of over 4,000 people.

About 3,000 people were expected to be screened at the end of the special eye clinic, but the number screened so far exceeds the target.
Those screened include over 3,000 adult males and females, and over 1,000 school children.
Past Zone Chairperson, Lion Micheala Kusi and Past Region Chairman, Lion David Anokye, who are assisting the team, together with other Lions said the turn-out was impressive.
The Lion officers said the figures will still increase by the end of the exercise.
They said about 2,000 eye/sun glasses have been given to those who needed them.
Lion Kusi and Lion Anokye called on residents, parents and schoolchildren in Kumasi and its surrounding communities, to take advantage of the programme and get their eyes screened.
They said it was important for all to screen their eyes, because when defects were detected early, they could be corrected to bring their eyes back to the normal condition.
They regretted that, a large number of cases of blindness recorded, could have been prevented, if early attention had been sought.
Lions In Sight
The 22- member Lions In Sight team arrived in Ghana from California/Nevada in the United States of America (USA) at the weekend for a week long eye clinic.
The team comprises seven doctors and 15 technicians and they are being assisted by Ghana Lions.
The team is led by Past International Director of Lions Clubs International, Dr Bill Iannaccone, Dr Corina Van de Pol and Dr Sarit Catchetorian.
Past District Governor, Lion Mrs Gloria Esi Lassey and other Lions from Ghana, met the team on arrival in Accra.
