‘Immune booster not cure for HIV and AIDS’
The Executive President of the Centre of Awareness (COA), a non-governmental organisation (NGO) and a medicine manufacturing firm, Dr Samuel Ato Duncan, has advised HIV and AIDS patients not to replace their anti-retroviral drugs (ARTs) with the centre’s COA FS immune booster.

He emphasised that COA FS was only a food supplement and not a treatment for HIV and AIDS.
He expressed the concern in the wake of various accusations and speculations in sections of the media that the centre had been promoting its food supplement as a cure for HIV and AIDS.
At a press conference in Accra last week, Dr Duncan stated that the centre had not carried any advertisement to that effect.
About COA FS
He said COA FS was only a plant extract which supports the immune system to fight chronic diseases such as HIV and AIDS, hepatitis, liver disorders, cancers, hypertension, diabetes, and other blood-related diseases.
“The fact that some HIV and AIDS patients have been taking the food supplement and it is boosting their immune system to fight various ailments does not mean it is a cure for the disease.
“Rather, the centre is working hard to produce a permanent cure for HIV and AIDS at the appropariate time,” he said.
