Health screening organised for Trinity United Church members

As part of the 50th anniversary celebrations on the theme: “Celebrating 50years of God's Goodness," the Trinity United Church at Legon has organised a health screening for members.

A member of the church and a doctor who helped with the screening, Dr Bridget Gogo said it was important for such exercises to ensure that members were healthy members.
"Just like the country needs healthy citizens to increase production and help in economic growth, the church also needs strong and healthy members to spread the word of God and expand the church of Christ", she said.

Dr Gogo said the health screening was an annual activity which started about nine years ago.

She advised that people should check their health status regularly and also seek medical advice from health experts.

A member of the church, Mrs Vera Fiador said it was the first time she was taking part in such an exercise.

“I’m a very busy person so I hardly visit the hospital for regular check-ups, I had suspicions that I wasn’t feeling well and it has been confirmed that I’m anaemic, so I have been given directions on how to take care of myself”, she added.

Nii Adokwei Abrahams on his part said the screening was very beneficial and that apart from the fact that they got to know their health status, it was another means of socializing and networking with other church members.
