Community Health Nurses' Association wants executive out
Some members of the Community Health Nurses' Association are demanding the immediate vacation of office of their national executive members because they have overstayed their mandate.

According to the association, the mandate of the executive members expired in April 2015; therefore, all activities undertaken by them since that time were unconstitutional.
Allegations
Among others, the group alleged that the executive members were illegally deducting monthly dues from members and had failed to render accounts.
At a news conference in Accra, the leader of the group, Mr Clinton Adombire, said the executive’s failure to account for members’ dues for the past five years and the mismanagement of the funds were of great concern to the membership of the group.
He claimed that the operations of the executive members had not been audited in the past four years, and that was in contravention of the association’s constitution.
He also accused the executive members of mismanaging members’ dues.
On behalf of the association, Mr Adombire, therefore, called on the Ghana Health Service and the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) to address the concerns raised within the next seven days.
He said the aggrieved group was also concerned about the refusal of the national executive membeers to organise a national congress to elect new leaders.

Mr Adombire claimed that all efforts to get the attention of the leadership to bring their concerns to bear had proved futile.
He said the executive’s decision to withdraw the association from its affiliate body, the GRNMA, was unacceptable to the majority of the group, particularly when they were not consulted.
He served notice that the group would go to court to seek redress if the various bodies did not respond to their concerns.
The community health nurses group comprises community health nurses from the various health institutions. The objectives of the group, among other things are to use the group to promote the welfare of its members and to discuss issues concerning their career progression.
