The items included printer ink catridges, note books, boxes of pen and other stationery to help in the administration work of the hospital.

The presentation was made after the council had held a meeting with staff of the hospital to discuss the challenges impeding the smooth discharge of their duties.

The Registrar of NMCG, Mr Felix Nyanteh, presented the items on behalf of the council, and said after meeting with nurses at the hospital they realised that the staff and administration lacked many items, hence their intervention.

Unique calling

“Churches, organisations and individuals come and donate items to the hospital; see that as a compliment and that people appreciate your hard work and dedication,” he said.

Mr Nyanteh encouraged the nurses and staff to discharge their duties diligently and that their profession was a unique calling.

“Do not be discouraged, your work is more difficult because the patients are neglected by families, friends and the society, and this is where your profession begins,” he added.

Mr Nyanteh pledged the NMCG’s closer relationship with the hospital and would collaborate with them to help whenever it was necessary.

Appeal

The Deputy Director of Nursing Services at the hospital, Mr Emmanuel Pappoe, received the items on behalf of the hospital administration and called on other entities to lend their support.

“We are appealing to the pharmacuticals, corporate entities and individuals to help in the little way they can, even the market women can bring us some ingredients for the inmates to also enjoy a good meal this festive season,” he appealed.
