An Indigenous oil marketing company, Zen Petroleum, has presented medical consumables to the victims of the Sekondi gas explosion accident.

The GH¢11,000 worth of items were presented to four hospitals where some of the victims are on admission and the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS)
The items including  gauzes, disinfectants, bandages and gloves were donated to the GPHA Hospital, the Takoradi Hospital, Efia Nkwanta Hospital and the New Takoradi Hospital.

The GNFS received a cheque for GH¢5,000 to offset the medical bills of fire officers who suffered burns while they were fighting the fire.

A senior officer of the Fire Service Station, Madam Veronica Koney, who received the cheque on behalf of her outfit, expressed gratitude to the company for responding to their distress call.

The Corporate Communication Manager of Zen, Mr Nicholas De Heer and his colleague, Mr Kwabena Ampong, who spoke on behalf of the company, called on oil marketing companies to take safety seriously to protect the health of their employees and the community.
