Why Government thinks GMA strike is illegal

The Government has described as "illegal", "unfair and against the rules of labour practice" for the Ghana Medical Association to declare a partial strike while negotiations are on-going.

The government said in a statement issued Monday, signed by Employment and Labour Relations Minister Harunah Iddrrisu that the move by the GMA "...amounts to coercion and an attempt to compel Government to negotiate under duress."
