The presentation was made under the welfare scheme of the church, which also caters for the needs of aged members.

Pupils and students in primary school, junior high school (JHS) and senior high school (SHS) received 15 books each, while those in tertiary institutions got 10 books each.

Support

Making the presentation, the Circuit Minister in charge of the church, Rev. Daniel Sowah Quaye, said the church found it important to support the schoolchildren with the books to help in their studies.

According to him, the church spent a lot of time and resources on the spiritual growth of the children, who are all members of the Children’s Service.

That effort, he asserted, must be supported with a firm educational background which would enable the children to unearth their potential.

He prayed for God’s guidance and protection for the children in this new academic year.

The Chairman of the Welfare Committee, Mr Gabriel Kotei, said the books were specially produced to make them unique, so that the children would value them and put them to good use.

He urged the church members to regularly pay their contributions to the welfare fund to enable the church to attend to the needs of its members.
