We will not withhold December, January allowances - National Service Secratariat

The National Service Secretariat (NSS) has denied that it will withhold allowances of personnel for December 2016 and January 2017.

The NSS in reaction to rumours on social media that it will withhold allowances said it will meet all its financial obligations to the service personnel.

A statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Ambrose Entsiwah Jnr., assured that government has already released funds for the payment of all personnel allowances till the end of December 2016.

The statemnet added that government has also approved its budget for the year 2017.

The NSS is also urging service personnel to “go about their normal duties and should not allow themselves to be deceived through such mischievous publications.”

PAYMENT OF DECEMBER 2016 & JANUARY 2017 ALLOWANCES NOT WITHHELD

The Management of the National Service Scheme wishes to advise all National Service Personnel and the general public to ignore the false publication circulating on social media that personnel allowances for December 2016 and January 2017 will be withheld.

As indicated in one of our previous statements, the government has already released funds for payment of personnel allowances up to the year ending December 2016 and has also approved our budget for the year 2017.

Service personnel are therefore encouraged to go about their normal duties and should not allow themselves to be deceived through such mischievous publications.
