The La District Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Emmanuel Binadeo Djieagu, has urged Christians to show to those they relate with the way to Christ.

Rev Djieagu explained that this is so because it is only by grace that Christians are called to be partners with God in the salvation business hence the need to share this grace with others in any kind of interaction.

Rev. Djieagu made the call last Sunday in a sermon at the Elevation Service of the Vredes Presbyterian Church, from a Preaching Post to the status of a Congregation at La.

The church service climaxed a week-long activity including a music festival, “Tell my Story” which involved the various groups telling how they came into being, a revival led by

Rev. Seth Klu Sowah of Bethel Congregation, La, clean-up and a candle light procession.

The elevation/dedication ceremony, which forms part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the church, included the presentation of a Bible to the church and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.

Rev. Djieagu, whose sermon was on the theme “Grace, Love and Fellowship,” stated that Christians must not only share the grace but God’s love as well.

“God did not create Adam alone but Eve. This means God wants us to live in community and not in isolation,” he explained.

The District Minister stressed the need “to cease the quarrelling and fights in our groups as well as the church and homes and live at peace with each other.”

The District Session Clerk, Mr Abraham Odamtten, recounted the history of the church which evolved following an evangelism by a group of church members from the district in the area 20 years ago.

He commended the congregation for the zeal and fortitude in helping to grow the church through the difficult and challenging times from the humble beginnings to its current landmark status.
