He arrived ordinarily on the school premises at about 12 p.m. with a few of his security detail and was taken through the verification process by the electoral officials.

Mr Amissah-Arthur, who described the process as simple, urged Ghanaians whose names were on the voters register to endeavour to verify their names ahead of the general election in December.

“I entreat all eligible voters to endeavour to verify their names on the register to enable them to exercise their franchise on December 7,” the Vice-President said.

President Mahama

Earlier in the week, President John Mahama was at Bole in the Northern Region to verify his name on the voters register.

The President, in a tweet, encouraged registered voters to verify their details, adding, “I was at my polling station at Bole yesterday to check my name on the voters register. Have you checked yours?”

Voter exhibition

The 21-day voter exhibition exercise is scheduled to end on August 7, 2016 as the exercise suffered a low turn-out with less than half of the over 14 million voters on the electoral roll still expected to verify their names.

The exhibition, which is taking place in 29,000 polling stations across the country, is also to help clean the register.
