Two Rotary Clubs donate to Foster Home

The Rotary Club of Accra Ridge, Ghana (District 9102) and the Rotary Club of Gbagada South, Nigeria (District 9110) have donated items worth more than GH¢6,000 to the Christ Foster Home and School, Frafraha in Accra.

Items presented included bags of Jasmine rice, bags of sugar and several cartons of Milo, milk products, biscuits, drinks and toiletries.

The donation was part of the club’s activities to mark this year’s West Africa Project Fair in Ghana from October 6 to 8, 2017. The project fair is held in different West African countries yearly to showcase Rotary projects.

International partners are also invited, mainly from the United States, to the fair for possible fundraising and collaborations in executing the projects.

Presentation

The President of the Rotary Club of Accra Ridge, Nana Osae Addo-Dankwa, presented the items and said the donation was a joint project between the two Rotary clubs as a token to help nourish the children of the home and put smiles on their faces.

The Supervisor of Christ Foster Home and School, Mr Adu Amoako, who received the items on behalf of the Home, thanked members of the clubs for their kind gesture and promised that the items would be used for the intended purpose.

The Foster Home caters for 40 children out of which 14 of them are in senior high school (SHS).
