Tragedy: Policeman shoots himself to death

A Policeman has shot and killed himself at the Central Police station in Accra, it has been reported.

Accra-based Starr FM reported Friday that the officer, identified as Constable Salifu Iddrisu, committed the act during an identification parade of some suspected criminals on Tuesday.
According to the report, police officials believe that Iddrisu mistakenly pulled the trigger on himself during an operation in which he transported some suspected gang of criminals to the Central police command.
His death was confirmed at the Police Hospital in Accra, the report added.
