Out of the number, three received award packages for their fathers.

They are Ms Claudia Borkor Hudson-Odoi, Ms Irene Teiku Anokye and Dorcas Brefaaa. They received packages worth GH¢8,100, GH¢7,600 and GH¢6,500, respectively.

The other 17 received parcels from the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL).

The event, which was organised by the GCGL and supported by Beige Capital Savings and Loans Limited (BCSLL), La Palm Beach Hotel (LPBH) and Ariel’s Spa, was also used as an opportunity to dine and celebrate the achievements of the fathers of the participants.

Customer care

The Editor of the Daily Graphic, Mr Ransford Tetteh, said the awards were to show loyalty and support for the readers of the paper.

He said The Mirror was devoted to family and healthy lifestyles and that coinciding with Father’s Day was a great opportunity to celebrate fathers of readers.

The editor gave an assurance that the management of the GCGL would continue with such innovations to give the best experience to readers.

“Gone are the days when journalists went round to pick anything for readers. Now we are cautious of what we publish for our readers. We have moved beyond those days because readers have become worthy partners in the media industry,” Mr Tetteh said.

He expressed the company’s readiness to listen to any suggestion to ensure that the newspaper business met the needs of its target readership.

Appeal

Mr Tetteh, therefore, appealed to fathers in particular, to be responsible in the discharge of their duties by taking care of the basic needs of the family, adding: “Even if it means you must forgo certain pastries, do it to give your children the best.”

The promotion

For her part, the Assistant Manager for Sales and Marketing of the GCGL, Ms Bernice Asiamah, said the participants were selected through a promotion that was advertised two weeks ago to appreciate readers of the paper.

She said participants who won the packages would enjoy spa treatment meal coupon and weekend stay at La Palm Beach Hotel.

Ms Asiamah encouraged readers to continue with the cordial relationship that existed between them and the GCGL, particularly The Mirror.
