TETRA supports two female nursing students with GH¢8,800

The management of TETRA B.V., a Takoradi-based private oil company, providing filtration and wellbore clean-up services has presented a cheque for GH¢8,800 to two female inmates at the Father’s Home Care in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis in the Western Region as a scholarship package to support their education.

The sponsorship will cover the fees of Miss Dorcas Adjei and Eunice Ama Andoh, both level 200 Community Health Nursing students at the Eagle University in Kumasi, Ashanti Region for the 2016-2017 academic year.

In 2015, the company, as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), provided a total of GH¢7,225 to the caretakers at the home to sponsor three nursing students at the university while in August 2013, the management also presented items valued at GH¢8,000 to the orphanage.

They included five computers and its accessories, a quantity of rice, two cartons of milk, toiletries, clothing and cooking oil.

Ms Rashidatu Mohammed, the Administrator of TETRA, who presented a dummy cheque to the management of the home explained that the continued support to the children would aid in bringing out the best of their talents to the society.

She added that ‘‘It would boost up the passion of parents and staff at the Home in taking very good care of these wonderful children who have found new and good home here.’’

Madam Rosemond Yamoah, the General Secretary of the home, who received the cheque, thanked the management of the company for the continued relationship with the inmates and staff at the home.

‘‘With your support, the children now feel a sense of belonging and are always feeling at home. Some of them have even pledged to come back here to help their junior colleagues after their higher education, ‘’ she disclosed.
