Tamale airport opens to traffic

The Tamale Airport has opened to air traffic after a Starbow airliner crash-landed Tuesday morning, when it overshot the runway.

The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority is currently investigating the cause of the near accident.

There were no casualties but the aircraft had its nose broken.

CEO of Starbow, James Antwi told Joy FM in an interview that the cause of the accident was not yet known. The aircraft was to be taken to the hanger for investigations.

The Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Alhassan Dahamani who was on board the flight, told the radio station everyone was fine except that passengers were traumatized.
