Take advantage of innovations to promote clients’ products. Graphic MD urges advertisers

The Managing Director of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), Mr Kenneth Ashigbey, has urged advertising companies and agents to take advantage of the company’s innovations to promote products of their clients.

He said the introduction of new platforms, particularly the digital version of the company's brands had made it more opportune for advertisers to reach out to a wider audience  adding that the quick reads (QR) and QR codes had also made reading more appealing and easier for the people.

Mr Ashigbey said this when he addressed the advertising community at this year’s Graphic Advertsing awards held last Thursday.

In all, 14 awards were presented to advertising agencies and individuals whose exemplary contributions had enhanced the company's operations.

The Overall Advertising Agency of the Year Award for 2015 went to the Supreme Concept. The agency was adjudged the best in terms of the volume of adverts and revenue generation for the company.

Apart from receiving a certificate of recognition and a memento, the Supreme Concept was also handed free adverts in all the six brands of GCGL in  January and February, 2017.

Other award winners were Premier Advertising which was adjudged the Most Promising Agency, Ogilvy collected the Innovative and Creative Agency of the Year Award, while the Azar Chemical Industry was the recipient of the Prompt Payment Award.

Each of the awardees were presented with a certificate of recognition and a plaque.

Graphic’s commitment

Mr Ashigbey said the GCGL had a strong commitment to ensure that innovative products were introduced to boost the business operations of all its clients.

Such commitment, he said, had made management of the company to introduce new and improved platforms to promote the growth of both the clients and the company.

Mr Ashigbey added that despite the challenges confronting the newspaper industry, the GCGL continued to adopt modern mechanisms to stay in business and also provide more avenues for its clients to expand their operations.

"We have gone into partnership with Crystal TV in order that we can leverage our quality to television and deliver value to advertisers. We will launch this next year and you will be invited to witness the programme,” Mr Ashigbey announced.

He commended the Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG) for its strong partnership with the company and assured members of the GCGL’s continued commitment to deepen the relationship.

Mr Ashigbey also appealed to the AAG to help to get its members to make payments to the company on time since the delay in payment derailed the company's ability to work efficiently.

AAG’s contribution

The President of AAG, Mr Joel Edmund Nettey, said the GCGL received a great share of the total advertising revenue for 2015.

He commended the company for undertaking innovative projects to enhance its products despite the challenges confronting the industry.

"The Graphic Communications Group Limited is the only company in the media industry awarding its clients and for that reason the AAG applauds management," Mr Nettey added.

He also lauded Mr Ashigbey’s contribution to getting the Advertising Bill to be placed before Parliament.

Meanwhile, Mr Nettey has appealed to the management of the GCGL to come out with more discount packages for its clients to enable them to also expand the volume of adverts they bring to the company.
