Tailor programmes to meet needs of members — women’s ministries told
The wife of the Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church, Dr (Mrs) Shine Ofori, has stressed the need for women’s ministries of various religious organisations to tailor their programmes to meet the diverse needs of members of such ministries.

Speaking at the Accra/Tema Presbytery Women’s Rally, Dr Ofori said elderly women must be treated with respect and not be cut off from the group.
“We need Bible studies, prayer, friendship, care, encouragement and even fun,” she said.
Touching on the theme: “Establishing Women for the Kingdom Business,” Dr Ofori said the Kingdom business came in different ways, in worshipping God: child upbringing, husband support, serving the family, the church and the nation, adding that “everything we do when we come to know the Lord is Kingdom Business. In other words, everything is ministry.”
Dr Ofori reminded Christians that there would be challenges and difficulties going through life in the world today but emphasised that the gospel did not teach Christians that there would be no suffering in the world, but they only needed to pray to God to grant them strength to carry and deal with the trials.

She said Christians must be responsible and very discerning of spirits, pointing out that there were many big churches today that thousands of people flocked to for wonders, but not to worship God. She cited instances where chapels overflowed during revivals only for the people to go on break when the revivals ended.
Rev. (Mrs) Patricia Akpene Tegbe-Agbo, the Public Relations Manager of the Church, who delivered the “Message from the Head Office,” encouraged the women to go all out to cast their votes during the December 7 general election, while urging them to advise their husbands and children not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to foment trouble.
She also urged the women to strictly abide by the dress code of the ministry and also ensure that they were decently dressed so as to maintain the church’s standards.
