Synagogue Church donates to Accra Psychiatric hospital

The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), founded by Prophet T. B. Joshua, has presented 500 bags of rice, estimated at GH¢50,000 to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.

The donation was in response to an SOS message sent out by the psychiatric hospital soliciting support to enable it to admit new patients.

The hospital lacked needed resources, including food items to operate effectively.

An Emmanuel TV Partner and member of the SCOAN, Mr Samuel Sackey, presented the items on behalf of Prophet T. B. Joshua and Emmanuel TV in Accra on Tuesday.

“We had information in the news that the psychiatric hospital could not admit new patients because of lack of materials and food items. And as soon as the Man of God heard of it, he said we should rush and donate 500 bags of rice to keep the place moving," Mr Sackey told the Daily Graphic at the presentation.

Plans

The church, he said, also had plans to extend similar support to the Schools for the Blind and the Deaf, as well as the Dzorwulu Special School.

“It’s not necessarily rice and food alone, but the man of God and the ministry feel that anything that mankind needs, especially the underprivileged, which we can be of help, we will reach out to such underprivileged people,” Mr Sackey added.

According to him, “the church’s presence has now spread across the world through Emmanuel TV partners and wherever such needs arise, whether they are in Haiti or the United States, we have offered our support.”

Support

Mr Sackey would not blame the management of the hospital for any form of negligence or mismanagement, since according to him, economic hardships had hit people across the world, “hence this willingness to support and I’m calling on other organisations to also come to the aid of the hospital.”

He further indicated that, “It is all part and parcel of God’s work. The most important thing we should be learning out of this is the real blessings we derive out of it.”

Appreciation

The Deputy Director of Nursing Service, Mr Emmanuel Pappoe, who received the items on behalf of the hospital, expressed appreciation to SCOAN and the Emmanuel TV partners for their benevolence and entreated other individuals and organisations to also come to the aid of the hospital.
