Suhum honours Kofi Asamoah, Okwabi

The chiefs and people of Suhum have celebrated their annual Odwira festival with the pledge to work hard to give the town a facelift.

There was merrymaking in the town and the principal streets of Suhum and its environs, with several residents and non-residents displaying the rich culture of the area.

The people, led by the Chief of Suhum, Osabarima Ayeh Kofi, paraded the streets of Suhum amidst drumming and dancing.

Durbar 

Osabarima Ayeh Kofi called on the youth to desist from violent acts and agitation during the electioneering towards the December 7 polls.

He urged all political activists in the town to conduct themselves within the confines of the law to ensure peace and harmony during the campaigns and the general election, stressing that Suhum and Ghana needed peace to develop.

Osabarima Ayeh Kofi called for unity in the area and challenged residents and non-residents to contribute towards the development of the town in order to raise the status of the town.

Peace

The Member of Parliament for Suhum, Mr Frederick Opare Ansah, and the Municipal Chief Executive, Ms Margaret Ansei, took turns to pledge their commitment to peace during the upcoming general election.

Two distinguished citizens of Suhum, the former Secretary-General of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Mr Kofi Asamoah, and the former Municipal Chief Executive of Suhum, Mr Samuel Okwabi, were honoured for their dedication to duty and national development.
