St Catherine Catholic Church marks Family Breakfast

The priests and parishioners of the Saint Catherine Catholic Church, Burma Camp in Accra, have marked the First Family Breakfast of the parish.

The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Commander (Ghana Navy) Alex Anaman, said the Family Sunday was to afford parishioners the opportunity to truly deepen their faith and commune as one people of God and also interact and help weak parishioners spiritually, physically and financially.

The Family Day was marked with breakfast for all parishioners, accompanied by interactions after Holy Mass.

The Family Breakfast was launched on April 30, 2017 during the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and is to be held on the first Sunday of each month.

Sermon

Preaching on Vocation Sunday, Fr Anaman said every vocation had its own difficulties. He, therefore, encouraged young men and women to pray for their particular vocations in life.

“They should also understand that marriage is a vocation and has its own challenges, as priesthood and religious life.

“Parents are shepherds of their families, just as the clergy are shepherds of God’s flock,” he said.

He entreated Christians not to compromise on their faith for any position or situation but to place their trust in God because true peace was found in Christ Jesus, the chief Good Shepherd.
