The five others, however, managed to escape, leaving behind a Toyota Corolla, with registration number GS 3942-13.

Those arrested are Emmanuel Kobby, 22, and Prince Tevon 21, a mobile phone repairer.

Briefing the media in Akosombo, the acting District Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police Mr Aggrey Baforgo, said between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. on May 1, 2015, the police had information about a break-in at a provision store at Akosombo Community One after the robbers had made away with recharge phone cards and GH¢350.00.

Mr Baforgo said the suspects proceeded to break into two bungalows after cutting portions of a metallic protective wire mesh, but could not enter due to noise from the sitting room.

He said from there, the suspects again went to the Volta Hotel Annex, where some academics had lodged to attend a conference the next day.

According to him, a security man on duty spotted some strange movements and alerted the police, who mounted a road block and consequently arrested the two suspects.

The remaining occupants of the abandoned car, however, managed to escape arrest.
