President nominates deputy regional ministers

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has presented a list of 10 deputy regional ministers to Parliament for vetting  by its Appointments Committee.

The Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Oquaye, who read out the list in Parliament yesterday, conveyed the President's call to the House to expedite action on the approval of his nominees to help him set up his government.

The nominees

 Ms Elizabeth Sackey is the Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister designate, while the immediate past MP for Oforikrom, Ms Elizabeth Agyemang, is the Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister designate.

Others are Mr Solomon Boar, MP for Bunkpurugu, Deputy Northern Regional Minister designate; Mr Amidu Issahaku, Upper West;  Mr Adongo Fuseini, Upper East; Mr Evans Opoku, Brong Ahafo, and Mr Joseph Tetteh, Eastern Region.

The rest are Ms Eugenia Gifty Kusi, Western Region; Mr Thomas Agyei Baffour, Central Region, and Mr Maxwell Blagogee, Volta Region.

Parliament is expected to announce a date for the vetting of the nominees by its Appointments Committee.
