Police arrest Salafest shooting suspects
The Manhyia Divisional Police Command has apprehended three teenagers in connection with the shooting incident that occurred during the celebration of Eid Ul Fitr last June at a popular joint called ‘Bonjour’ near Manhyia, in Kumasi.

The three were alleged to have connived in the shooting incident of June 27, 2017 which caused injuries to the head of one Osman Abdul Kareem, 17 during a street jam as part of this year’s Eid celebration.
The suspects are Sulleiman Musah, 19; Abdulai Umar, 18 and Lawson Hubert Joli, 19.

Briefing the press on Tuesday, the Regional Commander of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Ken Yeboah said the suspects were picked up on July 20, 2017.
According to the police, Suleiman was alleged to have admitted that he shot the victim, Kareem but explained that Kareem was not the target.
According to the police, Suleiman said he specifically bought the locally manufactured pistol at a cost GH¢300.00 from one Fuseini to attack one Shatta with whom he had a brawl.
He told the police that he and Shatta have had a scuffle two months earlier and he knew that he [Shatta] would be at the street jam.
He, therefore, acquired the pistol to attack Shatta in revenge during the street jam.
Mr Yeboah said the suspects, after committing the act, fled the jurisdiction to Salaga where they were alleged to have involved in an armed robbery and had been declared wanted.
They are currently in police custody and assisting in investigation.

Shooting
It would be recalled that on June 27 this year, a 17-year old boy was shot in head during the Eid Street Jam at Asawasi.
The injured has since been at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he is receiving treatment.
