The six-classroom block has an office, a library and a storeroom. It is a donation from the children of the late Ashanti Regional Manager of the  Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Mr Jacob  Banful.

At the inauguration ceremony, the Methodist Diocesan Bishop of Kumasi, Rt Rev. Prof. Osei Safo-Kantanka, said it was the responsibility of all to contribute towards improvement in the quality of education in the country.

He said the school building was a fitting memorial to the couple, the late Mr Banful and Mrs Banful, who were teachers and showed passion and strong belief in education as a key driver of development.

He said the church was focused on youth training and development since that was believed to be the way to organise and assist them to become useful and of service to the nation.

He said besides education, the church was also committed to moulding the character of the youth to make them grow  to become honest and trustworthy people.

The Methodist Diocesan Bishop of Kumasi praised the children of Mr and Mrs Banful, saying, “You have immortalised the names of your father and mother by building this model school in their honour.”

The Very Rev. Christopher Nyarko Andam, the Diocesan Synod Secretary, said the building had come at a time when it was most needed, noting that it was an example that other public-spirited persons could emulate.
