According to him, Ghana’s ability to develop its tourism industry must not be taken for granted.

He has, therefore, appealed to the government to take a critical look at the sector, which he said has the potential to change the economic fortunes of the country.

“This country’s potential is overwhelming. It has everything, from beautiful landscapes, rich culture, history and nice people,” he said.

Addressing an event to appreciate the hotel’s loyal customers, Mr Fakhry said developing the country’s tourism industry could also contribute to the reduction of the high unemployment rate in the country.

“The teeming unemployed youth in the country can benefit a lot if Ghana develops this sector. The job opportunities will be overwhelming,” he said.

  Excellent services

Mr Fakhry said as a hospitality industry, the resort was committed to providing world-class customer service to its customers.

“We will not allow complacency to eat us up because Ghanaians have accepted us. We will rather engage with the media and the relevant stakeholders to expand our reach,” he said.

He added that as Ghana was gradually becoming the number one destination choice for international travellers, there was the need for the hospitality industry to provide excellent services so that visitors would leave the country with good memories.
