Parliamentary projections: New entrants and fallen giants

There have been some massive shocks in the outcomes of some of Wednesday's Parliamentary elections. Although the Electoral Commission is yet to certify the entire results, big names such as Foreign Minister, Hannah Tetteh as well as the Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Baba Jamal have reportedly lost thier seats.

Replacing the duo are George Andah and the little-known beautician, Madam Ama Sey. Also making a popular entry into Parliament is the daughter of former President Jerry Rawlings, Ms Zanetor Rawlings, aka Osu La Gata.

Below are some of the projections; 

 

Awutu Senya Constituency, Central Region - Nenyi George Andah is projected to defeat the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hannah Serwaa Tetteh to claim the seat.

 

Madam Sey is projected to have ousted Baba Jamal

Akwatia Constituency, Eastern Region - A beautician, Madam Sey, is projected to have pipped the Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Baba Jamal to the Akwatia Constituency parliamentary seat.

Madam Sey won the seat with a 5,000 vote margin - she polled 21, 433 votes to edge Mr Jamal's 15,905 votes.

Dr Zanetor Rawlings (middle) 

Korle Klottey Constituency, Greater Accra - Dr Zanetor Rawlings is projected to win the Korle Klottey constituency seat in the Greater Accra region.

According to provisional results, the MP-elect Dr Rawlings secured 5070 votes ahead of her closest contenders Lawyer Philip Addison and Valentino Nii Noi Nortey amassed 3694 and 1379 votes respectively.
