In Kumasi, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, symbolically signalled the start of the exercise at Adum and commended those who responded to the call to help keep the city clean.

Others who joined in the clean-up exercise were political leaders, chiefs, opinion leaders, students, sanitation workers and members of the general public.
