Odotobri Rural Bank celebrates Easter with vulnerable children

Odotobri Rural Bank Limited at Jacobu in the Amansie Central District in Ashanti Region has made donations of food items to orphans of Adullam Children’s Home in Obuasi and patients of the children’s ward of St. Peter’s Hospital at Jacobu.

The items worth about   GH¢ 10,000 were presented to the two institutions at separate functions during easter.

The purpose of the donation, according to representatives of the bank, was to put smiles on the faces of thes underprivileged ones during the festive period.

The items donated to the orphans Home included, six bags of 25kg rice, three  gallons of cooking oil, ten crates of Kalyppo, 20 packets of Royal Digestive biscuits and  two packets of Nestlé Milo.

The rest were four packets of Ideal Milk five boxes of Key bar soap and four packets of Indomie.

 

Show of affection 

The Executive Director of the orphanage, Pastor James Sundia and Mr. Clement Amoah, a nurse who received the items on behalf of the children expressed their profound appreciation to the Bank for the show of affection and love during that festive period.

He appealed to the board and management of the bank to continue with the support to the home since it depended on such support to run.

At the Children’s Ward of the  St Peters Hospital at Jacobu, the bank donated items amounting to GH¢6,500.

 The items included 50 pieces of bed sheets,  assorted detergents , ten  crates of Kalypo and 20 packets of Royal Digestive biscuits.

Mr. Francis Barnie-Asenso, the Hospital Administrator, Dr. Kwadwo Adae Aboagye and Dr. Isaac Kofi Kyeremeh Barnor Jnr. who received the items on behalf of the hospital said they were grateful to the Bank for their numerous support to the hospital over the years .

 

Bank’s support

Mr Ben Asamoah Boateng, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the bank assured managers of the home of the bank’s continuous support.

 According to him the bank was socially responsible and he and his colleagues on the board would be prepared to give more of such support. 

The Directors and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank, Siaka Baba Ahmed shared some words of encouragement with the children of the orphanage and the Hospital, stressing the need to recognise that their present condition was not permanent and so they were to work towards their aspirations.
