The embattled pastor was granted a self recognizance bail with two sureties at the Police headquarters today, his lawyer confirmed to Accra based Starr Fm.

Members of the Church on Wednesday gathered at the Nima Police Station to offer intercessory prayers for their founder and leader after he was arrested on Tuesday for alleged fraud.

Meanwhile the two teenagers Eliasu Zakari,16, and Justina Nhyiraba Gyasiwaa, 14 who were flogged by Obinim during a church service for fornication have expressed praise to the bishop for the punishment.

According to them the controversial man of God was right to discipline them and were hurt when Ghanaians condemned him.

"We admit that what we did was wrong and our father Obinim was right in disciplining us in church...when we heard Ghanaians condemning the action of Bishop, we were very hurt because we came to the realization that we did the wrong thing and he was right in correcting me. We were happy he corrected us by punishing us and we will not engage in such acts again. Comments by people condemning bishop will rather prevent him from catering for us,” Gyasiwaa said in an interview on Obinim's OBTV
