Northern Region qualifies for Airtel rising stars finals

The Northern Region has qualified for the for the finals of the Airtel Rising Star football competition to be held in Sunyani later in August this year.

The Zone 4 competition held in the Northern Regional capital , Tamale, saw a great tussle between the teams from Upper East Region and the Northern Region in an attempt to book a place in the finals. 

Northern region’s team A showed glimpses of their intent to qualify to the finals in their first match with superb brace coming from their danger man Abubakari “Gaucho” Karim who was eventually named by the technical study team as the overall male best player.

At the end of proceedings, Northern Region Team A boys registered seven (7) points to book their place in the finals with Upper East Region Team B and Northern Region Team B placed second and third picking five (5) and two (2) points respectively.
