According to him, vigilantism is a deviant behaviour which is common in every society hence the need for law enforcement agencies to deal with people who fall foul of the law.

"There is no human society on earth that has no deviants who occasionally fall foul of the law," Mr Hamid stated.

He explained that deviant behaviour is a sociological problem that is prevalent in every society and in such societies, democracy provides for such people to be dealt with according to the laws of the country.

"That is the difference between people who protect deviants who are aligned with certain groups or parties and those who are not," he added.

Mr Hamid was reacting to the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) response to Dr Bawumia's address on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government's 100 days in office on Asempa FM's Ekoosi sen program.

He stated that because the opposition cannot find any issues with the NPP government, they are capitalising on the vigilante activities of some NPP youth to make the government unpopular.

The Minister admitted that vigilantism within the NPP support is one of the biggest challenges of the government but the overemphasis on it by the opposition NDC shows that they have nothing bad to say about the government.
