Noble’s Forum confers award on Prof. Zakariah for distinguished service

West Africa Noble's Forum has conferred a Nobles International Award on the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Ambulance Service, Prof. Ahmed Nuhu Zakariah, for his selfless efforts and dedication to his work.

The citation accompanying the award described him as a distinguished professional who continued to play a key role in both national and global growth.

He was one of prominent West Africans who was honoured by the Forum at its 25th Conference/Award ceremony in Accra.

The awards are presented annually to distinguished West Africans whose selfless efforts in their chosen fields of endeavour have earned them reputations beyond the shores of their respective countries.

In addition, recipients must have also upheld the virtues of honesty, integrity and accountability in both public and private lives.

Profile

Prof. Zakariah, 49, is an intensive care specialist of international repute, who has led the Ghana Ambulance Service effectively since his appointment in 2006.

He was responsible for building an emergency care service in Ghana, ensuring the training of paramedics and emergency care service in the various health institutions in the country.

He is also a lecturer at the Critical Care Nurses Training programme at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital.

Before becoming the CEO of the Ghana Ambulance Service, he had served in various fields (including Cardiac Anaesthetist) at the National Cardiothoracic Centre at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
