MTN supports Ada Asafotufiami festival

MTN Ghana Limited has presented a cheque for GH¢5,000 to the Ada Traditional Council in support of this year’s Asafotufiami Festival.

The company also presented GH¢1,000 worth of recharge cards and a drink hamper to the Council towards the celebrations, at a ceremony.

The Greater Accra Regional Area Sales Manager of MTN Ghana Limited, Prince Owusu Nyarko who handed over the items at a ceremony in Big Ada, said as an indigenous African organisation, MTN was committed to supporting and promoting the rich culture and heritage of Ghana.

He said festivals formed an important component of the Ghanaian cultural heritage for which reason “in the past nine years, MTN had committed it resources to support selected traditional festivals every year across the country.”

Mr Nyarko added that MTN would also support the organisation of the durbar of chiefs and people of the area.

The Chief Executive of Ringworld Limited, Mr Francis Kobby Odoom, whose organisation has partnered MTN to organise many social activities during previous festivals, said this year’s MTN Asafotu Jam which took place at the weekend held at Kemnat Hotel at Big Ada, was also sponsored by MTN.

Nene Ahondi Otumfuo IV, a divisional chief of the Ada Traditional Area who received the cheque on behalf of the traditional council expressed appreciation for MTN’s support.

“For many years now, MTN has been supportive during our beautiful festivals and we appreciate everything they do for us. We hope this relationship will continue and will grow,” he said.
