According to the police, the farm labourer, identified as Iddrisu Seidu, 35, was killed and dumped at a poultry farm belonging to Nana Osei last Monday.

Apparently alarmed by the incident, the youth, who suspected Nana Osei as the brain behind the murder, vandalised his farm.

An eyewitness, who gave his name as Abeiku, told The Mirror that it had become very difficult for the police to restrain the youth from carrying out their threat since the incident happened.

Even though the poultry farmer has run away for his life, there has been a scramble for thousands of his birds and crates of eggs, while the entire poultry and other property, including cars and houses, have been set ablaze by the marauding youth.

The eyewitness explained that the incident resulted in a heavy traffic on the Techiman-Kumasi road as the youth continued their scramble for the property, particularly the birds and crates of eggs.

Acting PRO

The acting Brong Ahafo Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, Mr Sampson Gbange, explained that Seidu was killed and dumped at the poultry farm belonging to Nana Osei on Monday.

Mr Gbange said when the youth heard about the incident, they massed up and threatened to kill the poultry farmer but he managed to escape.

According to Mr Gbange, no arrest has so far been made but the police are making frantic efforts to locate Nana Osei for him to assist them in their investigations.

The police officer in charge of the area, DSP Agyei Nimo, refused to give any details of incident when the The Mirror reached him on his phone.

“My friend, drop the phone” was the only response that he could give as he cut the line.
