The laboratory was refurbished by the Jubilee Partners and the Ghana Education Trust fund (GETFund).

At the ceremony, Mr Amissah-Arthur underscored the importance of the sciences in securing the future of the nation.

“Without science we cannot compete with the world as they leap,” he said and advised all students to devote time to their studies.

Mr Amissah-Arthur reiterated the government’s commitment to improve science centres in all senior high schools and also encourage the teaching and learning of the subject.

He was of the view that the refurbished facility would increase the number of students offering the sciences in the school.

Mr Amissah-Arthur, who pledged to contribute towards equipping the new facility, appealed to the Jubilee Partners to help in equipping the facility to make the study of the subject more realistic. He also asked the school authorities to cultivate the culture of maintenance.

Stressing on the importance of science, Mr Charles Darku, who deputised for the Managing Director of Tullow Ghana, said the project was expected to whip up the interest of students in the subject and subsequently pursue its related programmes at the tertiary levels.
