Man Capital assists post-natal mothers

An asset management company, MAN Capital Partners, has presented items such as washing bowls, buckets, toiletries and baby wipes  worth GH¢20,000 to the Korle-Bu Maternity Ward.

The company also presented a cash for GH¢10,000 to help settle the bills of  mothers who could not pay their delivery bills.

Support

The Chief Operations Manager of the company, Mr Anass Ahmed Abdulia, who presented the items to the hospital last Friday, said the gesture was to assist needy mothers who could not pay their bills and other basic needs.

“We have been hearing about these mothers and their newborn babies for a while now and we thought it wise to help them,’’ he said.

He said the company would assist by regularly meeting some of the basic needs of newborn babies and their mothers.

Challenges

Touching on some of the challenges at the ward, the Principal Nursing Officer, Madam Comfort Akyea-Mensah, said the major challenge at the ward was the inability of mothers to settle their bills after delivery, although they got assistance from the social welfare, which was not adequate.

She, therefore, called on corporate organisations and individuals to emulate Man Capital to support the hospital.

Gratitude

A mother, Madam Victoria Koranteng, expressed joy at the gesture which had brought relief to them.

“The items will go a long way to help us take good care of our babies. The financial burden on us has also been lifted,’’ she said gleefully.
