Lordina Foundation donates to 3 facilities in Wamanafour
The Lordina Foundation has presented assorted medical supplies and equipment to three health facilities in the Brong Ahafo Region at a ceremony at Wamanafour in the Dormaa East District in the region.

The beneficiary facilities are the Wamanafour Hospital in the Dormaa East District, the Nkran Nkwanta Hospital in the Dormaa West District and the Nsuatre Hospital in the Dormaa North District.
The foundation also presented bicycles to the Youth-in-Police module to support its operations in the area.
Presenting the items, the First Lady, Mrs Lordina Mahama, said her foundation, with the support of its partners, MedShare of the United States and other sponsors, would continue to provide more medical supplies to Ghanaians to improve health care across the country.
Quality health care
She said the foundation was determined to complement the government’s effort to provide quality health care for the citizenry and would do so for as long as it continued to enjoy the support of its cherished sponsors, both local and international.
She said Ghanaians stood the risk of not receiving quality health care if hospitals lacked the basic equipment to provide quality services, adding that as a country there was the need to work against losing lives as a result of the lack of the necessary medical supplies and equipment.
Healthcare facilities
“The government is committed to improving healthcare facilities across the country but needs the support of other stakeholders in the health sector, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), philanthropists and individuals,” she said.
According to her, the healthcare system in the country had improved tremendously through the tireless efforts of health professionals, especially those working in rural communities.
She said one area that needed much attention was community health education which was necessary for the prevention of diseases and the promotion of good health and urged all stakeholders to educate communities on how to stay healthy.
She further called on chiefs and elders of communities to help promote peace before, during and after this year’s elections, adding: “You must advise the youth to avoid violence as the election approaches. Ghana needs each and everyone of us.”
The First Lady extended her appreciation to MedShare of USA and all other sponsors of the foundation for their continued support that had made it possible to support health facilities in deprived areas of the country.
Traditional rulers in the three districts thanked the First Lady for her philanthropic work which had benefitted the whole country.
