Local company supports police with building materials
The Kaneshie Divisional Police Command last Saturday took delivery of building materials valued at GH¢87,000 to help in the completion of its new office complex.

The items, which included tiles, sanitary ware and security doors, were donated by Virony Nc Company Limited, a distributor of building materials.
At the presentation ceremony at the Kaneshie Police Station, the General Manager of Virony, Ms Alyssa Lu, said the donation was in line with the company’s corporate social responsibility.
“As we have been accepted by Ghanaians to do business here, we also deem it fit to support the nation in terms of security, since no business can operate successfully in an insecure environment,’’ she said.
She explained that the company operated within the jurisdiction of the command and, therefore, it was in the right direction for it to support it to enhance its operations.
“We recommend the Ghana Police Service and for that matter the Kaneshie District Police Command, for constantly striving to protect the public. We hope this support will boost its operations,’’ she explained.

The Kaneshie Divisional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ernest Owusu, who received the items, described the donation as timely.
According to him, the office complex was near completion and so any form of support to complete it was a step in the right direction.
“The office, when completed, will create a conducive environment for the policemen and boost their morale to work harder,’’ he said.
He lauded the efforts of Virony, adding that “such support is the sort of collaboration that the police need’’.
ACP Owusu called on other corporate entities to support the command to complete the office complex by the end of this year.
