Mr Evans, who filed his papers at the Ghana International Press Centre on Tuesday, February 28, called on all aspiring candidates not to be intimidated by the vile propaganda to discourage them from filing their papers.

According to him, “lots of machinations and threats have already started rearing its ugly heads in a simple election which should have been fun.”

Mr Evans noted that the image of the association has hit an all-time low, for which reason he called for a visionary leadership to bring the association to its former glory.

“The GJA is not the personal property of any member and every member has the right to contest any position within the association,”  Mr Evans stated.

He said, “Together, we should be able to give the GJA a new image, a new direction and a new focus.”  He added that “we all have a shared responsibility to work towards that common goal.”
