The home, which currently has a population of 23, takes care of children living with HIV and abandoned children whose parents have died from HIV and AIDS.

The items donated included a chest freezer, mattresses, cups, plates, drinks and pastries.

Information

Presenting the items, the President of the association, Mrs Hanane Kabalan, said the visit to the home to support the less privileged children, was planned after information on the plight of the children reached the club through a diplomat who was a friend to the association.

The caretaker of the home, Mr Daniel Boye Mensah, thanked the association for its gesture and hoped others would also support them.

He said the home was funded through such donations from charitable organisations, petty businesses and by members of the association of people living with HIV and AIDS.

People Living with HIV and AIDS

Mr Mensah said besides the children, the home supported people living with HIV and AIDS  aged between  20-70.

He said the home regularly took the children for medical examinations and kept them on antiretroviral drugs to keep their immunity strong.

Present at the presentation were some executives of the association, the Project Officer, Mrs Nalda Abu Chedid, Director of fund-raising, Mrs Sara Fawaz, and the Public Relations Officer, Mrs Roola Maouas.
