The National President, Mr David Kelvin Anokye, who led some members of the association to present the items said while the bags of cement valued at GH¢3,000 were to support the building of infrastructure, the jerseys and balls worth GH¢500 were also to complement efforts in the development of sports in the school.

He said the association observed that there was congestion in some classrooms and the dining hall of the school and thought it wise to contribute to building extra classrooms.

Mr Anokye recalled that much as the school was one of the best in terms of fine art, it had created a niche for itself in the area of sports, hence the association’s penchant to support sports.

According to him, the association was still thinking of making ‘bigger’ donations in the future to resource their alma mater.

Mr Anokye used the opportunity to advise all old students of the school who had not yet joined the association so they would together support the school.

The Assistant Headmaster of the school (Administration), Mr Issah Ibrahim Merigah, who received the items on behalf of the school, expressed gratitude to the association for the gesture.

He asked members of the association to continue to be patrons of the school and never relent in their efforts to join hands with the authorities of the school in the area of development.

He added that old students would need to always have first-hand information from school authorities so as to avoid distortion of information but to ensure continuous relations between the two groups for the betterment of the school.
