KPASEC old students improve hygiene in alma mater
The 1992/94 year group of Kpando Senior High School (KPASEC) has responded to a call by the school authorities to assist them to get a better place of convenience for the female students of the school.

To address the challenge, the year group has constructed an ultra-modern 20-seater water closet facility worth GH₵215,000 for the school.
The project is expected to ease the pressure on the existing place of convenience for the girls and improve sanitation and hygiene in the school.
At a short ceremony on the school premises, the old students handed over the facility to the headmistress, Madam Comfort Addai, who expressed gratitude to the year group for coming to their aid.
Madam Addai told the year group that the current student population stood at 2,094 out of which 1111 are girls and 983 being boys.
According to her, getting a proper place of convenience for the girls’ dormitory was a challenge for the school she, therefore, promised the old students that they would take proper care of the facility to serve its purpose well.
Some challenges of the school
Although the headmistress mentioned that the school, over the past years, had enjoyed the benevolence of its past students, she called on them to assist to improve education delivery in the school.
Madam Addai said the school was faced with infrastructure challenges, which included classrooms and dormitories.
“In fact, we have outlived our current dining hall, assembly hall, school library, staff common room and computer laboratory,” she said.
The president of the year group, Mr Cornelius Komlagah, said the presentation was to set a good example for their juniors to emulate and support other young ones in future.
‘We have taken so much from the school and it is time to give back,’ he said.
Past students urged to support alma mater
Past students, he said, must make it one of their priorities to support their alma mater because the government alone could not provide all the needs of the institutions.
‘We have taken note of the concerns of the school and would come at the appropriate time to help tackle them,’ he assured.
In the meantime, Mr Komlagah said the year groups would construct a wall round the water closet facility to prevent the students from using the place as a route to run to town.
CEO of First Sky Group honoured
The occasion was also used to celebrate an old student of the school and the Chief Executive Officer ((CEO) of a construction company, First Sky Group Limited, Mr Eric Seddy Kutortse, for his immense contribution towards improving education in the school.
The school conferred on him the title ‘Ngoyifia of Kpasec’ (Development Chief of KPASEC) for single-handedly providing bitumen for the surfacing of the entire school community roads and asphalting the immediate environs of the school administration block as well as awarding 37 of the students full scholarship.
