The exercise, which attracted many donors, is an annual programme of the two groups.

Obligation

The president of the commandery, Noble Bro. Francis Ahiafor, told the Daily Graphic that mankind was obliged to save lives and that that obligation transcended the spiritual to the physical.

“As we donate blood, it goes to save lives that would otherwise have been lost,” he said.

The president of the Ladies Auxiliary, Ms Leninsor Kakrabah-Quarshie, reiterated the fact that the blood donation exercise formed part of the commandery and the auxiliary’s annual social responsibility to the community and also served as part of activities marking the Feast Day celebration of the St Margaret Mary Alacoque Parish.

Appeal

She appealed to staff of corporate institutions, churches and individuals to voluntarily donate blood to save lives.

The exercise was on the theme: “It's safe, it's simple and it saves lives.”
