Core services provided by Kimcart include testing of brakes, emission, alignment, suspension and shock absorbers. Other services offered at Kimcart are headlights restoration and vehicle insurance.

Located in the quiet and serene atmosphere of Trede in the Atwima Kwanwoma District, it could be described as the largest vehicle inspection facility in the region.

The newly opened centre has the capacity to test about 240 cars daily and can boast well trained staff who man the centre.

Location

A director of the company, Mr Emmanuel Ahene-Affoh, told the Daily Graphic that the location of the centre was carefully chosen for the purposes of serving people from within and outside the region.

According to him, Trede the which is about 10 minutes’ drive from Santasi Roundabout and close to Anwiankwanta, links the Central and Western regions to Ashanti and motorists from these regions would not need to go through the hustle and bustle to access the centre to have their vehicles tested.

Besides, he said, the centre was in an area with less traffic and as such easily accessible to people within the metropolis.

Mr Affoh said the out of town location of the centre was to ensure that people got easy access to the venue and was waste no time in having their vehicles tested instead of joining long queues in town and wasting time there.

Why Kimcart

Mr  Affoh said Kimcart Company Limited provided professional and efficient service for its clientele and was equipped with state-of- the-art equipment to undertake all sorts of diagnosis on all vehicles and proffered the best advice.

According to him, the objective of the company is to contribute to the reduction of road accidents in the country through the provision of good testing services that will ensure that all vehicles on the road are road worthy and also provide value for money service to the public.

Aside from this, he said, plans were far advanced for the establishment of a second service centre in the region.

According to him, the concentration for the meantime is to serve the people of the Ashanti Region and its environs before rolling out to the other parts of the country.

Licence

Kimcart Company Limited started full vehicle inspection and testing services for road worthiness certification following the authorisation in 2013 by the DVLA to allow PVTS to undertake the examination and testing of vehicles for roadworthiness certification purposes on behalf of the DVLA.

According to Mr Affoh, “vehicle test results are instantly available for motorists and the good news is that any type of vehicle in Ghana can be examined at the facility by trained personnel.”
